For advanced secondary Lymphedema due to lymph node dissection: the patient is recommended to come every day for 10 days for decongestive therapy through manual lymph drainage and bandaging. The bandages would remain on until the patient would return the next day. After removing them, he/she would shower here; we would then repeat the aforementioned process again. After 10 days, the limb will be much smaller. At that time we would measure the limb for a compression garment made according to specific measurements of the limb.
For primary Lymphedema: we would first carefully assess and decide on frequency of treatment. We would do manual lymph drainage, and fit for compression garments and a bandage as desired.
